Just under a year ago, Popeyes opened its first location in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. If you were around New Street, you could finally order from the New Orleans-style fried chicken spot’s menu and get your hands on its iconic Chicken Sandwich that had customers queuing around the block in the States. It’s proven popular in Brum too.
Popeyes will open six new locations across the West Midlands this year, including its first-ever UK airport restaurant and its first rail location outside of London. With both dine-in and takeaway options available across all six new restaurants, customers will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes fan-favourites like Hot Wings, Tenders, and Chicken Wraps.
A new Saucin’ Boneless and Hot Wings range will also be available, featuring bold, New Orleans-inspired flavours: cheesy Garlic Parm, bold BBQ, and spicy Buffalo. While available until 11am daily, you can order Popeyes’ full breakfast menu, featuring British breakfast classics combined with a New Orleans twist, such as the Big Cajun Roll, Cajun Hash Browns and Nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.
All of Popeyes’ chicken is halal-certified and marinated for 12 hours in its signature bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered for its “signature ‘Shatter Crunch’” – complemented by tasty extras like biscuits and Cajun gravy. This significant growth in the West Midlands is part of Popeyes’ plans to open more than 45 restaurants in the UK throughout 2025, and will create over 500 jobs.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes® UK Chief Executive Officer, said: “The West Midlands is a key region for us, and the incredible response to our first location in Birmingham city centre has shown just how much demand there is for Popeyes here. With six new locations opening later this year – including our first-ever airport site in the UK and first rail station outside London – we can’t wait to bring a true taste of New Orleans to even more people and become a valued part of each of these communities.”
Where are the new Popeyes locations in the West Midlands?

Marking the start of an exciting expansion into key travel locations this year, the Birmingham Airport restaurant will be located airside.
