Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne announced that Ozzfest would return in 2027 with two dates planned for Birmingham’s Villa Park—the very same venue that held Black Sabbath’s ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert. Just yesterday (Monday, August 17), the official Ozzfest Instagram confirmed its return to the Aston Villa stadium.

From California to Chiba, London to Las Vegas, the touring heavy metal festival, launched by Ozzy and Sharon in 1996, ran worldwide until 2018. Sadly, Ozzfest never made its way to Birmingham, but in the wake of Ozzy’s passing last year (July 22, 2025), that’s about to change.
Ozzy died just 17 days after Black Sabbath performed their final ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert—dubbed the “greatest heavy metal show ever” on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Aston, a stone’s throw from where the band formed in 1968. The line-up featured Tool, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and many, many more.
With “more info on everything coming soon”, we can only speculate on details, but we know it could be up to two dates, while Sharon has previously said to expect “new young talent, because that’s what your dad would want.” In an interview with Metal Hammer, she said she was already in talks with potential performers.
“Ozzfest is coming back; now you have to plan these things two years up front, so we’re looking at 2027, Aston Villa,” Sharon said to her son Jack, speaking on the Osbournes’ podcast. “We want to do two days at Aston Villa and then come to America. We want to hear from everyone about where we should go in America.”
