This winter, the most enchanting indoor walking trail is opening in Birmingham, and we’re so here for it. After an exceptionally successful London run that drew thousands of visitors, the hugely popular Neverland light trail is officially coming to the West Midlands on October 23.
What’s even more exciting is that one of Brum’s most iconic heritage spots is getting a full theatrical overhaul. Neverland at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will transform the grand historic halls into a wondrous, living storybook world that brings the tale of Peter Pan to life.

What can you expect from the Neverland light trail?
Hooked on the festive magic, prepare to trade damp winter strolls for a cosy, weather-proof adventure. Unlike the traditional outdoor light trails where you are constantly battling the unpredictable British weather, the Neverland in Birmingham experience is entirely indoors.
Visitors will get to step out of the bustling city streets directly into a glowing fairy dust path. As you journey through the hour-long magical walkthrough, you will be transported straight into J.M. Barrie’s classic tale. On this truly exciting adventure, you will wander past the glowing rooftops, explore the hidden nooks of the Lost Boys’ hideout, and creep through the moody shadows of Crocodile Creek and Skull Rock. At last, the journey reaches its dramatic climax aboard Captain Hook’s impressive ship.

This richly detailed set, alongside the atmospheric soundtrack and glowing light installations, offers an adventure for the whole family. Paired with live actors stationed throughout, the trail brings Neverland’s famous residents to life to entertain the little ones. So whether you are a family taking kids out for a festive treat or a couple looking to indulge in a unique date night in the city centre, the experience offers a magical escape for all.

How to get there?
Getting to this Neverland is far simpler than it is for Peter Pan and Wendy. Especially if you are based in or around Birmingham. Located right in Chamberlain Square, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery sits in the very heart of the city centre.
The venue is extremely easy to reach via public transport. It is just a short 5-minute walk from Birmingham Snow Hill Station, or less than 10 minutes on foot if you are arriving at Birmingham New Street Station. If you are travelling by tram, simply hop off the West Midlands Metro at either the Town Hall or Grand Central stops, both of which put you just moments away from the front entrance. Frequent local bus routes dropping off at Colmore Row and Victoria Square also stop right on the museum’s doorstep.
