Summer is still a ways off. But we have some news guaranteed to add some sunshine to your day. Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival has announced that US funk and disco legends KC & The Sunshine Band will headline on the Sunday. Plus Kokoroko, Smoove & Turrell, and Fun Lovin’ Huey Morgan have also been added to the line-up.
“We can’t wait to welcome KC and The Sunshine Band to Mostly,” said John Fell, Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival Manager. “Their infectious ‘Sunshine Sound’ changed the course of funk and disco in the 1970s, and 50 years later, is still packing dancefloors the world over.”
They’ll join Ezra Collective, one of the UK’s most exciting jazz acts, jazz legends Incognito and Fat Freddy’s Drop as headliners this year. Ensuring this year’s festival will bring summer vibes to Birmingham.
Also heading to Moseley Park this July 7 to 9 is Jamz Supernova, Jasmine Myra, Mica Millar and many more. They join the previously announced artists like Goldie, Jungle, Mr Scruff, Crazy P Soundsystem, and DJ Norman Jay. You’ll soon forget you’re only two miles from Birmingham’s city centre. As the three-day festival takes place in the stunning 11-acre woodland in the heart of Moseley Village.
“This year we wanted to delve into the UK scene more, so to have Ezra Collective headlining Saturday night is incredibly exciting!” also said John Fell. “This year feels like our most rounded and contemporary line-up to date – and we still have more exciting news to come, including details of further emerging artists, After Shows and our expanded food and drink offer.”
Elsewhere at the festival, attendees will discover workshops, arts and crafts, and a selection of Birmingham’s most beloved street food vendors in Moseley. Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival debuted in 2010 to celebrate ground-breaking UK music and international trailblazers, something we can still see reflected in the 2023 line-up.
