If your kids would rather spend all day playing with LEGO than outside. If you come home to find the kitchen transformed into a cathedral made out of bricks. Then have we got the competition for you and your little ones. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is on the hunt for a talented child to be crowned the UK’s second-ever Mini Master Model Builder.
Every weekend over the next month (January 6 to February 4), young LEGO aficionados have the chance to let their imaginations run wild in this brick-tastic competition. Building epic creations entirely out of LEGO bricks, each weekend the team’s Master Model Builders will select a winner to be entered into the heats. Then, an overall winner will be selected by the Global Master Model Builder, Alec Posta.
But the competition won’t stop there. Both LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham and Manchester (this old rivalry, huh?) will put forward their best builder, who will then go head-to-head in one final challenge. Only then will a winner be crowned.
“Last year’s competition was my first time at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and it was incredible – I was really in my element with the bricks everywhere,” said Harry Hill, Regional Mini Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham. “It was such an honour to be named the regional Mini Master Model Builder last year. I genuinely couldn’t believe that it happened to me, and seeing my build displayed in MINILAND was so surreal!”
How do I become a Mini Master Model Builder?
Entry into the Mini Master Model Builder competition is included in the price of one standard admission ticket. Any child under the age of 18 can enter. Just head to the competition area in the circus room during your visit. Here you can build any awesome sculpture you like – the more imaginative, the better – and enter your model to be judged.
The winner will receive £500 to spend in LEGOLAND Discovery Centre stores, alongside four Gold Merlin Annual Passes. Their final build will also be displayed in MINILAND until the end of the year. The runner-up won’t come away empty-handed either, as they will receive four annual passes to their local LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.
