Did I skip a day of school where economics was explained to us? Because I remember Pythagoras’ theorem and mitosis vs meiosis, but I couldn’t tell you how the stock market works. What I do know is drinking, so maybe Manahatta’s new bar concept can teach me a thing or two.
Manahatta Birmingham, the Temple Street venue, is launching Stocks on the Rocks, a real-time stock exchange bar with drinks prices rising and falling every few minutes, based on their popularity—with drinks available from as little as £2.50 when the market crashes.

Every Friday (starting January 23), enjoy discounted drinks between 6 and 10pm. It not only adds a level of thinking to the bar experience, but also lots of excitement. With drinks prices fluctuating all night, you will need to keep an eye on the stock market and make strategic purchases to get the best deal.
Martin Wolstencroft, CEO, at Manahatta said, “Our Birmingham team at Temple Street are super excited to be introducing our Stocks on the Rocks concept and kick-starting the New Year with our very own stock exchange every Friday.

“Having now successfully launched across multiple sites in cities across the country, we’re introducing the most thrilling happy hour with the potential for half-price shots and cocktails when the market’s right. We look forward to welcoming you to the stock exchange, Birmingham!”
You’ll be able to enjoy these discounts on a huge lineup of bar offers across a range of crowd-pleasing drinks—from classic cocktails to pints of beer, premium spirits with mixers and wine by the glass. Before you know it, you’ll be Birmingham’s very own Gordon Gekko!
