Do you prefer Halloween over Christmas? Own a solid selection of scary movies you watch whatever the season? Or a wardrobe full of haunting costumes you need the faintest excuse to dress up in? Well, we’ve got the spooky event for you, as Luna Springs relaunches its terrifying custom-built scare maze this Halloween.
The Digbeth-based venue is inviting Halloween enthusiasts back to its immersive horror experience, Meltdown, this October 11 to November 2. Designed around an abandoned nuclear facility, Luna Springs will undergo an unrecognisable transformation – with the custom-built indoor scare maze bound to shoot ice through your veins.
Guests can expect a unique twisted maze, alongside the sound of distant alarms and the faint hum of malfunctioning equipment. There will also be live actors waiting around every corner to keep anyone who dares to enter on their toes. Plus, there will be a fun fair, street food, DJs and a bar – which you can also enjoy without visiting the scare maze.
What’s new at this year’s scare maze?
There are no new specific details yet, but last year’s visitors may have some idea what to expect. After experiencing Goretech’s Atom Facility’s catastrophic meltdown and revealing an outbreak of mutated test subjects, this October, the terrifying tale only intensifies. Victor Isotope returns with a vengeance, unleashing new methods of experimentation more brutal and unhinged.
Driven by grief and madness, Victor has created a labyrinthine nightmare deep within the facility. Dark corridors stretch endlessly with no obvious way out, leaving you disoriented and sure you’re being followed or watched. The walls seem to close in as the air grows thick with fear. In these twisted passageways, more mutated test subjects lurk in areas where they shouldn’t be, adding an unpredictable danger at every turn.
Meltdown: Victor’s Revenge Part II promises to ramp up the scares and will be open 1PM to 10PM (and each ticket includes a Bacardi Cocktail or soft drink). Also returning is Luna Springs’ Scare Maze brunches which not only includes entry to the Halloween scare maze but 90 minutes of bottomless drinks, street food, a live-action freak show and DJs. This is a strictly 18+ only event, but age 14+ sessions will also be available on selected time slots.
