Does it ever truly feel like Christmas until you’ve seen your favourite feel-good festive film? Christmas movies are what make the holidays for many. At our house it’s Home Alone. But Love Actually, Elf and It’s A Wonderful Life all hold a similar place in the hearts of other families. This year, why not watch your favourites in an extra special way – from the warmth of your car!
The Luna Drive-In Cinema will return to Birmingham following a successful festive cinema residency last year. It parks up at the NEC for three weeks throughout December. Drive on over, where you can enjoy an entire month’s worth of Christmastime classics up on the big screen, from December 1 to 22.
The drive-in cinema will feature a line-up of almost every Christmas classic you can think of: including Love Actually, The Holiday, The Santa Clause, The Muppet Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and more. Before anyone asks, yes, we consider Gremlins as a Christmas movie.
If you’re used to cosying up to film then with a hot chocolate or mulled mine, The Luna Drive-In Cinema has you covered. Bags of festive food and drink are available on site, but audiences can also pack their own snacks and drinks for their perfect movie night.
“Nothing signals the arrival of the festive season like the sound of those all too familiar Christmas songs on our radios, colourful Christmas lights illuminating dim streets, and our favourite of all, enjoying the festival classics on the big screen with our loved ones,” said Charlotte Ford, Head of Brand Marketing & Engagement at heycar – who have partnered with The Luna Cinema to create this experience.
The traditional drive-in cinema has been brought into the 21st Century too, thanks to a giant high-definition cinema screen. Luna also utilises unique wireless in-car speaker boxes. So everyone can enjoy an incredible audio experience. All without fearing the weather with your windows down or draining the car battery with the radio.
Tickets start from £32.50 for up to five people. To buy yours and see all the films playing head here.
