A sea of pearl-like orbs pulsing with light, fiery amber rays piercing through the trees, a rolling mist bathed in vibrant colour… Light Cycles will work its magic under the cloak of night from November 15. The light trail will be illuminating the wilds surrounding Stonebridge Golf Course very soon, taking you on a wondrous wander through nature with life-size art installations, hypnotic visual effects and serene soundscapes. Prepare to be enchanted.
What can you expect on the Light Cycles trail?
The Light Cycles night trail winds for one kilometre around the idyllic lakes of Somers Fishery. Like peeking behind a tangle of branches into a secret world, the spellbinding experience brings the unspoken and hidden elements of nature into the light – literally. Journey through five multi-sensory experiences inspired by the language of the trees, the warm golden glow of a sunset, the curious patterns of plant life and the frequencies of the forest.
Light, colour and sound combine to transform the natural surroundings right in front of your eyes. All ages can immerse themselves in the mesmerising outdoor displays and enjoy the melodic folk music that brings each artwork to life. Then, you can all share in a moment of reflective connection when you reach the beating heart of the curated trail.
Light Cycles is not your classic Christmassy light trail – though it is sure to spread a little festive cheer as it lights up the dark autumnal evenings – instead it’s an intriguing invitation to connect with nature and art. Be sure to round up your friends and family, keep it cosy with layers and comfy shoes and prepare to lose yourself in a world of light and colour. Oh, and there’s food and drink available in case you somehow need an extra incentive.
