Children of the 90s may recall that the original UK Gladiators TV show was filmed in Birmingham at the then National Indoor Arena (aka the Utilita Arena). It’s 30 years later, and Brummies can finally step into the Gladiators Arena themselves—with the arrival of the Gladiators Experience.
For the first time, fans of the smash-hit BBC television show can become Gladiators contenders, tackling the series’ most recognisable challenges. Testing speed, strength, and skill on iconic challenges, it launches at the NEC Birmingham from May 2 to August 31, 2026.
What will the Gladiators Experience be like?
From testing your balance and grip on Hang Tough, to facing off in Duel, tackling The Wall, and completing the legendary Eliminator, you will put your physical ability to the test in an authentic recreation of the Gladiators arena. The Gladiators Experience will not only offer exhilarating physical challenges, but also behind-the-scenes attractions too.
A host of family-friendly attractions will immerse fans in the world of Gladiators. The Vault will deliver an unmissable look behind the scenes of the nation’s favourite TV show, the Gladiator Training Facility will sharpen the skillset needed to be a true Gladiator, and a huge superstore will offer exclusive merchandise.
