Whoever turned down a free item? Not me! Oatly is currently on the road handing out 20,000 free coffees nationwide for passers-by to sample and it’s stopping by in Birmingham next week over a five-day period (March 24 – 28). That’s enough morning coffee savings to put a deposit down on a flat!
The world’s largest oat drink company is on a mission to convince you to make the switch over, by handing out thousands of free flat whites made with Oatly Barista Edition in Birmingham. (They’re also stopping by Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Glasgow.)
The campaign comes after a recent blind taste test (done by Oatly, so take that as you like) that suggests potentially up to four times as many consumers prefer the taste of coffee with an oat drink than are currently purchasing it. That’s led to Oatly saying that tens of millions are missing out on a preferred coffee taste.
“People love Oatly in their coffee, they just don’t know it yet!” says Filip Nilsson, Executive Creative Director at Oatly. “Our blind taste tests showed there are potentially millions of people missing out on a first-class taste experience, so we’re going on a journey to sample delicious Oatly coffees to people across the UK who may never have had the chance to try it before – proving what we know to be true. Our oat drinks taste delicious! ”
We won’t confirm or deny Oatly’s claims. But you can try it for yourself by heading to the Oatly sampling van at Northfield Sainsbury’s between March 24 – 26, and then to Birmingham’s Victoria Square on March 27 – 28. You can also find out how to conduct your own blind taste test by visiting here.
