In one of the world’s best cricket grounds, particularly known for its electric atmosphere during T20 matches, Birmingham will host the first match-up of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 this summer. England will take on Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on Friday, June 12, with six nations expected in Birmingham.
The full schedule for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been announced following the conclusion of the Qualifier in Nepal last month. Joining the tournament are Bangladesh, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland—with the 12-team line-up aiming to be a landmark summer for women’s cricket.
While England looks for the perfect start to their home tournament against Sri Lanka, cricket fans can expect a gripping double-header on Sunday, June 14. Bangladesh is up against tournament debutants Netherlands, before fans see in-form India take on Pakistan later that day.

The final fixture at Edgbaston will see Pakistan return to Birmingham to face South Africa on the evening of Wednesday, June 17. But England fans might want to note in their calendar, Saturday, June 20, when the host nation heads to Leeds take on Scotland at Headingley.
“This Women’s T20 World Cup will bring world-class athletes, elite performances and unforgettable moments to fans across England and Wales,” said Beth Barrett-Wild, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Tournament Director. “With high-quality cricket at its core, the tournament promises to be an unmissable sporting spectacle that captures hearts and minds, and takes women’s cricket firmly into the mainstream.”
