Calling all princes, princesses, mice, and magical creatures: the world’s biggest Disney exhibition to date is coming to London, following success in other international cities. Disney100: The Exhibition celebrates 100 years of the iconic brand, and to mark the centenary, The Walt Disney Archives and Semmel Exhibitions will host an exhibit of epic proportions at London’s ExCeL. Even miracles take a little time though, so it’ll arrive in the capital on October 13 – however, tickets are now on sale!
Disney100: The Exhibition will showcase 10 themed galleries, featuring an array of props, original costumes, moving stories, and much more from the adored classics, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), to contemporary favourites, like Encanto (2021). Alongside Mickey, Minnie and co, you’ll see the latest additions to the Disney family too, namely characters from Pixar, Star Wars, and MARVEL.
What exactly can you expect at Disney100: The Exhibition?
Enter a world of pure imagination as The Walt Disney Archives opens a vault of historical and special treasures; you can expect to browse Disney artefacts even the most staunch fans have never seen before. Within the 10 themed galleries of the 20,000-square-foot exhibition, fans of all ages will be able to come face to face with rarely seen original works of art, reprographics, artefacts, costumes and props, and other memorabilia.
Galleries will include ‘Where Do the Stories Come From?’, a gallery where visitors can see the actual carousel horse that Dick Van Dyke rode in Mary Poppins (1964); ‘The Spirit of Adventure and Discovery’ to view the Iron Man helmet from Avengers: Infinity War (2018); and ‘The Illusion of Life’, where you can admire original artwork from One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), plus the iconic red dress from the most recent film (Cruella, 2021). Disney100: The Exhibition also includes a look at the world-renowned theme parks. It all sounds super(califragilisticexpialidocious) to us!
Although the exhibition is guaranteed to be absolutely magical whenever you attend, fans who book to visit on Disney’s actual 100th anniversary – October 16 – are in for an extra special treat.
Between the extraordinary backdrops and photo opportunities with some of most beloved characters, like Mickey, Goofy, and Dopey, Disney 100: The Exhibition will capture the imaginations of young and old. Whether you’re an absolute Disney mega fan, or just looking to be mesmerised by the nostalgic exhibition, grab your ohana, and get ready for an unforgettable few hours.
