This Dining In The Dark in Birmingham experience offers you the chance to enjoy an amplified meal. As sweet, salty, bitter and savoury flavours dance on your palate, see if you can guess what you’re enjoying with a sublime three-course meal showcasing bold and balanced flavours from Thailand and India.
Zen Metro: Thai & Indian, a multi-award winning spot, will be cooking up a sensational storm. As mouthwatering aromas waft through the dining room, a limited number of guests will await their mystery meals. This experience has visited Birmingham before but this limited edition Dining in the Dark Thai & Indian Edition brings an extra something special. One thing’s for sure: this isn’t your usual meal out!
What can you expect at Dining in the Dark Thai & Indian Edition?
There’s no peeking allowed at this curious experience and you’ll be given blindfolds (which are deep cleaned after every use) to make sure that you can’t take a cheeky glance at what you’re eating. Over the course of 90 minutes your sense of sight will be plunged into complete darkness, altering the way that you interact not only with your plate but with those around you.
Rich, smokey aromas meet bursts of spice and zest. You might find that you taste each flavour more acutely, thinking: “where have I tasted this flavour before?” as an inability to see the dish does away with any preconceptions you might have about what you do and don’t like.
You can choose between three different options: vegetarian, meat and fish. Of course, allergies and dietary restrictions can be catered to as well. So, as you are led to your table, only the aroma of the dishes will give clues as to what it is before your tastebuds get to work savouring these delicious plates of food.
It’s up to you how you eat each plate. Use your hands to discover each element or try to tuck in with a knife and fork. It’s bound to be a messy affair but that’s all part of the fun and why this makes for the perfect date night. As those beside you fumble around for their food you’re going to hear a lot of laughing and joking but the best part is that nobody can see you anyway. It’s an intimate, entertaining experience devoid completely of self-consciousness.
