We all know Digbeth is pretty special. One of the most interesting, exciting and creative quarters in Birmingham, it’s home to an array of exciting bars, unique shops, brilliant street food and incredible artists. And it’s all on show this summer for the Digbeth Open Day.
Head down to Digbeth on Saturday, June 22 to sample a little bit of everything in and around Gibb Street. Between 11am and 6pm, this collaboration between Zellig and Digbeth Arts Space sees the family-friendly event open for all. You’ll find a makers market in Digbeth Arts Space, live music from Back of the Bar, plus open art studios, street food and bar pop-ups, vintage fashion stalls, kids’ activities and more.
Just some of the traders and stalls involved include, Boo Does Nails, Urban Angels, House of Two Trees, Alma Store, Under the Layer, Angel of Cakes, My Mum’s Fridge Door, Akinyi, Twinkle Tooth, Molly Bennett, Studio Ell Richie, WXRKINGCLVSS, Always Ballin’ Club. Plus more to be confirmed. Best of all, it’s free! You’ll just need to grab your tickets here first.
Of course, we probably won’t need to convince you to stick around for the evening afterwards. There’s a reason Digbeth’s one of the coolest neighbourhoods. Check out some of the best bars, restaurants and clubs in Birmingham – including Norton’s, Doctor Oculus, Autobrew, The Rainbow and The Ruin – and use your Digbeth Open Day wristband for some great discounts.
You know, the Digbeth Challenge is still on – where you can win a £300 bar tab at The Ruin. But there’s more than £1000 in prizes to be won from local venues in the area. All you have to do is be the first person to visit 45 venues in Digbeth for food and drink. To learn more about how to take part head here.
