Europe’s favourite sneaker festival Crepe City is descending on Birmingham for its second year this July – and it’s even bigger than last year. This time round, on July 22 Crepe City will be taking over the National Exhibition Centre from 11am-7pm and they’ve got TRPHSE, Crep Protect, and StockX on board too. So not only is it literally in an even bigger space than last year, which also happens to be a Birmingham staple, they’ve got incredible brands involved including Birmingham’s resident vibe curators TRPHSE. Trainers are still king here, with some of the rarest kicks on the market available, and you can secure your Crepe City tickets here.
So, how did Crepe City even get here?
Well, it’s been a bit of a journey. In fact, it’s one that starts over 10 years ago all the way back in 2009. Founder Ronal Raichura organised the original Crepe City event in London to be a chance for sneakerheads to meet up in person and trade their best trainers. However, it turned out that there was a lot more demand for it than was initially expected and that led to it expanding over the next few years. It’s now travelled the globe, secured incredible brand partnerships, and become the biggest sneaker festival in Europe. And they really mean festival when they say it. It’s not just about the trainers, in fact now you can also pick up the hottest streetwear alongside luxury fashion items as well as hear some of the best DJs in the city all under one roof.
Trainers and that sneakerhead culture are still at the core of the experience though. So whilst you will have TRPHSE providing the vibes all day long, Crep Protect on site for any sneaker cleaning needs, and StockX on site to authenticate any trainers – don’t forget the big draw is actually the trainers. You’ll surely find some of the rarest trainers to have ever been released, with the best stockists and resellers from across the country under one roof. Even better there are no virtual queues or raffles to enter, if you see it you can buy it there and then – and who knows you might end up getting a good deal on those trainers you’ve been eyeing up for a while.
