From multiple street food halls to more Michelin stars than any other UK city outside of London, and everything in between, Birmingham is a gastronomist’s playground. You can see the breadth of the city’s hunger all in one place this summer, with the return of the Colmore Food Festival in July.
The 13th edition of one of Birmingham’s most popular free events looks to take over Victoria Square on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, 2026 (open from 11am to 7pm). Last year’s festival saw record-breaking crowds, with 75,000 visitors across two days, tucking into everything from bao buns to gelato lollies to Argentinian steaks and more.

Colmore Food Festival remains free to attend and will continue to champion affordability and accessibility through capped pricing and taster‑sized portions, allowing visitors to sample a wide range of flavours without breaking the bank—with a 30-piece trader line-up, including everything from curry houses to cocktail bars and Michelin restaurants.
What will I eat at Colmore Food Festival?
The 2026 festival welcomes many new additions to the area, including the brand‑new Birmingham restaurant from Michelin‑starred chef Glynn Purnell and wine expert Phil Innes, Trillium, and the modern Greek restaurant on Newhall Street beloved for its refined take on Mediterranean dining and warm hospitality, Cylla.

Six by Nico, the Colmore Row venue known for its ever‑changing tasting menus, and Paradise-based operators Cow & Sow and La Bellezza are also new additions. Plus, check out the Demonstration Kitchen on Chamberlain Square, where local chefs, mixologists and bakers will share signature dishes, showcase new techniques, and shine a spotlight on local talent.
“Colmore Food Festival has always been about affordably celebrating the depth and quality of food and drink on our doorstep,” said Alex Tross, Deputy Board Chair and Lead of Colmore Culture Working Group. “Alongside many much‑loved returning traders, we’re thrilled to welcome a plethora of new additions – venues that are already helping to shape Birmingham’s national food reputation.”
