Somehow LEGO continues to be the greatest invention ever. Generations have played with some variations of plastic construction toys. Kids today (despite all the gadgets and computers) still sink endless hours into turning bricks into castles, spaceships, racetracks and more. So everyone should be excited about this Brick Fest Live heading to Birmingham this spring.
Heading from the US to make its UK debut, it’s described as “the world’s largest hands-on brick event of its kind”. Brick Fest Live will land at the NEC from May 25 to 27, with over a million LEGO bricks on display and ready for you to play with. Plus, life-size models, a Guinness world-record-breaking floor mosaic, 35’ long derby ramps for your brick-built cars and so much more.
The all-day brick-tastic event offers a myriad of activities and exhibits that both kids and big kids can enjoy. Unleash your creativity in the Build Zone, where your only limitation is your imagination; discover rare sets, mini-figures, and exclusive merchandise at the LEGO Marketplace; and test your skills and problem-solving abilities in the Challenge Zone.
You’ll also be able to learn from expert builders and designers at the Inspiration Station – where you can add valuable insights to your building techniques – and about the fascinating history of LEGO. Elsewhere, build intricate mosaics, enter the Glow Zone with bricks that shine under blacklight, and plenty more building opportunities with this timeless toy.
Keep your eyes peeled on the awe-inspiring collaborative masterpiece, Creation Nation, as it evolves throughout the event too. And you can contribute to this larger-than-life LEGO creation too as it comes together to form one stunning, unified display. Tickets for Brick Fest Live start at £18, but under 4’s go free, which you can get by heading here.
