Got a budding superstar in the family, or maybe a master builder? Then you’ve got to get yourselves down to Birmingham’s LEGO Store this April. The LEGO Group is teaming up with ‘pioneering creatives’ to launch a series of free in-store and online workshops throughout the year.
Part of the LEGO Group’s campaign for championing girls’ creativity, these workshops are aimed at young creators (aged 6-12). The first workshops in April will have an ‘entertainment’ focus – with future workshops covering topics such as space, imagination and gaming.
How do I get involved with LEGO’s free workshops?
There’s two ways of getting involved. Firstly, you can head down to the in-store creativity workshops on April 21 and 28. The LEGO Store in Birmingham will encourage young creatives’ star power by building a photo frame out of LEGO. In it, they’ll be able to display anything they want to celebrate – from family pictures to an achievement award. Tickets are free, but you need to book beforehand here.
If you can’t make it, these special online workshops are available for all. Dianne Buswell – who you might know from Strictly Come Dancing – is ready and waiting to show you how to create fun LEGO builds and decorate your home. This includes a name sign, photo frame and jewellery stand, and are available from today here.
Other online workshops will see space communicator Alexandra Doten (aka Astro Alexandra) tackle the theme of ‘space’ and video game pioneer Kennedy (aka Cozy K) take on ‘gaming’. These online workshops will be released later in the year. Details on future in-store workshops will also be revealed soon.
You can find The LEGO Store Birmingham at Bullring Shopping Centre, Unit Su709, Birmingham B5 4BU.
