Following the announcement that Bedknobs and Broomsticks would be coming to the stage, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has been revealed as the next classic to get the theatre treatment, with a stage show touring the UK during 2021 and 2022.
Starring a number of incredibly talented West End stars, the ‘reimagined’ production will arrive in Birmingham in 2022, bringing new designs and state-of-the-art technology to bring the tale as old as time to life.
Performing at Birmingham Hippodrome, the cast includes Courtney Stapleton and Emmanuel Kojo as Belle and the Beast, both of which have starred in huge shows such as Les Misérables and Bat Out of Hell. Joining the duo is Gavin Lee as Lumiere, Tom Senior as Gaston, X-Factor‘s Sam Bailey as Mrs Potts, and Nigel Richards as Cogsworth.
In addition to the fantastic new theatre technology amplifying the production, guests can also expect a brand new tap dance to Be Our Guest – created especially for Gavin Lee, who’ll be showing off his world-class tap dancing – as well as stunning costumes by the team who originally won the Beauty and the Beast production a ton of Tony’s 26 years ago. The revamped show will, of course, also honour the beloved Disney soundtrack, with plenty of new choreography to enjoy in a new fresh light, which is sure to ignite nostalgia in all viewers.
Beauty and the Beast will come to Birmingham Hippodrome from 3rd to 26th March 2022.
