We’ve all had that chat haven’t we, dreaming about the perfect job. We’ve all been sat in a pub at some point, and stopped to think, mid-sip, ‘what if I could actually do this for a living?‘ Well, maybe it wasn’t such a pipe dream after all, because ALDI is offering up the opportunity to work as a beer taster for the brand. Fancy yourself a bit of an expert in all things malty and hoppy? Read on to find out how you could actually get paid for it.
What actually is the job?
As ALDI’s ‘official beer taster‘ you’d be responsible for trying out their upcoming new range of lagers, ales, and ciders, and passing on feedback. Set to launch September 15, the successful applicant’s feedback could well see adaptations and changes to the brand’s range in the following year. The beer taster will be sent ten new products to review and provide feedback on. So, basically the role is exactly what it sounds like: drink some drinks, and let them know what you think!
Julie Ashfield, who works as the Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said the following:
“We’re looking for someone with passion and excitement when it comes to craft ale, but who can honestly review our range and provide suggestions as to how we might improve it for next year. For beer lovers, this is the ultimate opportunity.”
To apply, just send an email to the brand with a few key details. They’ll need some personal information (it is a job application after all!) and an explanation as to why they should hire you. Makes sense, because they can’t just pick anyone after all, can they?
Send your application in an email to Aldibeertaster@clarioncomms.co.uk with the following information:
- Full name
- Proof of age (ID)
- Your social handles
- A 150-word explanation why you’re perfect for the role
- Your favourite beer and why
Applications are currently open, and close on August 29. They’ll choose the successful applicant on September 2, with samples soon to follow to get reviewing!
What are you waiting for? Crack a beer, and get to applying. And any beer you drink for the next few weeks is just preparing for the role.
