West Midlands Railway offers free travel for military personnel and veterans for Remembrance Sunday, including the national service at the Cenotaph in London. The rail operator, alongside sister company London Northwestern Railway, is also offering free travel to bereaved family members.
Those attending the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph can travel free to any London Terminal station on Saturday, November 7 or Sunday, November 8, returning on Sunday, November 8 only. Free return travel to Remembrance Services elsewhere is available on Sunday only.
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience and commercial director at WMR, said: “It is so important to pay our respects to those who served and those who continue to serve. We are proud to play our part in ensuring military personnel, veterans and bereaved family members can attend commemorative events for free.”
Employees at WMR have also raised more than £2,700 for the Royal British Legion by ordering specially made metallic pin badges to proudly display on their uniforms, which were designed by a colleague at WMR.
