There’s a stellar line-up in store for September.
Ready to hibernate a little this September after an epic summer? You’re in luck, because Netflix has an incredible month of new content in store for us. From the return of some of the streaming service’s landmark shows, to the addition of new star-studded originals and classic films, here’s everything new to Netflix UK this September. (Don’t forget, you can watch Netflix with pals using this nifty Internet extension.)
Money Heist (S5 Part 1), September 3
The end is officially in sight, starting with part one of the final season of Money Heist. Promising the most ‘epic and exciting’ season yet, fans will finally get answers to all their burning questions, as well as a ‘savage’ war that will see huge twists and some pretty emotional turns. Stream it from September 3.
1917, September 10
If you haven’t seen 1917 yet, don’t be put off by the war theme. 1917 was one of the best releases of 2019, and it swept up at awards season for good reason. Filmed using single-shot coverage, to give the seamless illusion that the movie was created in just one take – just like a play – viewers can expect incredible cinematography that’s worth the watch alone, as well as an outstanding cast that includes George MacKay, Colin Firth, GOT‘s Dean-Charles Chapman and even Benedict Cumberbatch and Richard Madden. Watch it from September 10.
Lucifer (S6), September 10
While fans did manage to squeeze an extra season out of Lucifer, the beloved show is finally coming to an end. Fans are in for a wild final ride this September, with tons of unanswered questions set to come to a head. Will Lucifer take over as God? Will Dan get his chance to leave Hell? Will Chloe and Lucifer finally get their happy ever after? Find out from September 10.
Zombieland: Double Tap: September 10
The sequel to hit comedy Zombieland is finally making its streaming debut on Netflix UK, over a decade after the first movie’s original release. Joining the first film on the platform, fans can pick up ten years later with the gang in Zombieland: Double Tap, as they embark on yet another hilarious journey to slay the zombies that have taken over Earth. Watch it on September 10.
Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father (S5), September 14
Jack Whitehall and his dad are back for a final season of Travels with my Father, and this time, they’re taking on the UK. Michael Whitehall, in particular, has gained quite the fanbase from the show, so we’re pretty excited to see where this last journey takes the hilarious duo, and what silly situations they find themselves in this time around. Watch it from September 14.
Sex Education (S3), September 17
Sex Education fans, rejoice! The hilarious series is finally back. Dropping on September 17, the third series will pick up where we left off with our favourite Moordale high schoolers, with more naughty antics in store for the gang – as expected. If that wasn’t all, there’ll hopefully be some answers to some fiery questions too, including whether Otis and Maeve will finally get together – despite her new admirer’s efforts to drive them apart. Binge-watch it on September 17.
Midnight Mass, September 24
Mike Flanagan – the mind behind Netflix’s popular Haunting series – is back with Midnight Mass, a brand new horror series that fans are set to be obsessed with. Starring a number of familiar faces that fans will remember from Hill House and Bly Manor, the story follows a number of residents of a small village, whose world is completely changed with the arrival of a new, charismatic priest. Expect plenty of creepy vibes with this one. Watch it from September 24.
The Starling, September 24
Melissa McCarthy has been pretty busy as of late, and now, she’s returning for a Netflix Original film with Chris O’Dowd. The comedy-drama follows married couple Jack and Lillie, who are forced to adjust to life when facing a huge loss together. After Jack leaves to deal with it his own way, Lillie is forced to confront her grief alone, all while being comically taunted by a Starling in her garden. Watch it on September 24.
